This one is for the scientists, the Scottish Chromatin group are having a meeting next Wednesday (the 10th of February 2010). The meeting is being held at the University of Edinburgh from 2pm-6pm, so obviously if you are in (0r near) Edinburgh you can just go along. The concert raises funds for the children’s cancer charity CLIC Saergent. Bear with me! The UK government has a website called “Science and Society in the UK“, it is part of the Department for Business Innovation and Skills. They want to improve build public confidence in science and improve science communication. Apparently some expert groups are drawing up “action plans”. Beyond that, I got a bit confused, I’m not sure [...] This is just a quick reminder, for those of you in the Aberdeen area, Techfest 2009 is on now. It’s a festival of science and technology in and around Aberdeen. If you are looking for something to do this weekend (19th-20th September 2009), then there is a family activity weekend down at the Beach Ballroom [...] Cafe Scientifique events run all over the world, including Aberdeen! They are short lectures with time for debate and discussion at the end. The next talk ties in with TechFest 2009 and is given by Dr Wendy Marsden from the University of Edinburgh on “Need Enhancing?
