The charity World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) are promoting their annual “Candles of Hope“ appeal. As part of this, 30 cathedrals across the UK will hold a memorial service for those who have been lost to cancer on Christmas Eve. The cathedrals will also burn a memorial candle from Christams Eve until the twelth night.
According to the WCRF website both St Machar cathedral in Aberdeen and St Pauls cathedral in Dundee are taking part, although I couldn’t find details on either of their websites. The WCRF fund research at both Aberdeen and Dundee University into the effect of diet and weight loss on bowel/colorectal cancer.
If you know any more details about the services, please feel free to leave a comment below, or get in touch using the contact form.
