Aberdeen Study – Can fruit and veg prevent cancer and heart disease?

shopping-bag-webThis is an update to a post I wrote last week called “Clinical Trials – How can I help?“. The Rowett research Institute (part of Aberdeen University) are looking for volunteers to take part in a study looking at the effect of fruit and vegetables on disease.  They are looking for healthy people aged between 40-55 who don’t currently eat a lot of fruit and veg.  People taking part in the study will be given 5 portions of fruit and veg and two glasses of fruit juice to add to their daily diets.

There is more information in this Aberdeen University Press release “Volunteers wanted for fruit and vegetable study” and this article in the P&J “Scientists focus on fruit and veg” from the 15th of October.
