On Saturday the 27th of June 2009, Huntly will host it’s first ever “Relay for Life” to raise funds for Cancer Research UK. This is a gala style, family event, with lots of fun and entertainment.
As part of the run up to the event, the Brander Library in Huntly have a special display of books on cancer. You can’t miss it, they’re on a table, right in the centre. These books are available to borrow, all you need is a library card.
The books have been choosen as they are very up to date (most were published in 2007 or 2008) as cancer reseasrch is advancing all the time, it’s good to read the most up to date books you can find.
Some of the books are aimed at people with cancer, others are aimed at family and friends or someone caring for a person with cancer. If you are looking for a book on a particular type of cancer, please ask the librarians for help, Aberdeenshire Library service have hundreds of books on cancer.

If you search using “cancer” as a keyword you’ll find there are 496 hits, you can choose to search for books by date, so you only see the most recent ones.
